Written by “A Bostonian,” the play is first performed at the Haymarket Theater. It is subsequently performed in New York. After attending a performance, President John Adams tells the actor who played the part of General Warren, “Sir, my friend, General Warren, was a scholar and a gentleman, but your author has made him a bully and a blackguard.”
